Debi,

It sounds like you have a corrupted data file.
First run Scandisk and see if that helps.

Next try doing an import.
In a blank, new workbook, click
INSERT -- OBJECT -- FROM FILE
and insert the bad file.  If that works,
you will now have the data inside an object
window (just like a graphic) and then you can
click into the imported object window and
copy from that to the main part of the worksheet.
