From Outside Loop, I bought a barebones unit with a Celeron 566 Coppermine on an ASUS CUBX motherboard. On a 66-MHz FSB the CPU is locked but becomes unlocked when the FSB is set to 100 MHz. The multiplier was set to X8 and the core voltage to 1.6. This overclocked my 566 to a stable 850 MHz and, with the Gloden Orb cooler, it runs at a cool 40C. The frequency was checked out by PCPITSTOP and other diagnostics. The 566 has an onboard temperature sensor and the CUBX motherboard is configured to pick up that signal and send it to the ASUS monitoring circuit, which displays the CPU temperature on screen. The computer has been running continuously for months without a problem and with a temperature variation of only a couple of degrees. K.
