Mary Jane:

I recently purchased and installed the program. I also installed the "free"
version of Power Desk [version 1.x] that came with Fix-It Utilities. At
this time I am only using the later version of Power Desk [4.0.8] that can
be downloaded from www.ontrack.com .

I did not install the virus scan, being sold on the free version of
InoculateIT, and overall I found the rest of the program to be too
intrusive and duplicate a lot of features that WIN98 SE provides. Over the
years I've tried other utilities programs- with the same result.
Nevertheless, when time permits, I'll probably reinstall Fix-It and try
again. Fortunately, it was on sale at Staples in the US [I'm Canadian] for
$14.95 so I don't regret buying it.

In retrospect, I personally think that Second Chance from Power Quest is a
far better choice for most people. It will let you get into trouble but
then returns you to the setup you had before you did something stupid or
loaded a buggy program. I do a lot of both!

Good luck,

Peter Darrach
