Date of Appointment: September 16, 2001 Duties: Teach undergraduate and MBA courses in financial accounting. In addition, research and publication, student advising, and participation in college and university activities are integral components of this appointment. Qualifications: As effective teaching and publication in refereed journals are required for tenure and promotion, the successful candidate must have a strong research and teaching record or be able to demonstrate clear potential. This position requires a Ph.D. or DBA. ABD candidates will be considered only if completion of the dissertation is imminent. Some preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching accounting theory with a writing component, advanced accounting, and auditing. Professional certification is preferred. Experience working with diverse students and faculty is preferred. Located in Bellingham, Washington, a city of 60,000, the 224-acre campus overlooks Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands.
