<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> hello, please forgive me if i mispelled that drug in the subject line, i am asking away from my purse! i am newly pregnant and do not have a GI doctor right now and do not even want to bother at this point! my regular doc is much more educated in celiac than the specialists in this town! anyway, my first appointment with an obgyn will be when i am 3 months pregnant, ridiculous waiting list.. (like she knows about celiac! she doesn't) i am newly pregnant and wanted to know if anyone took this drug OCCAISIONALLY when they were pregnant with no ill effects. i only take this when i get any gluten contamination which is normally rare unless i am eating out or on the road, but i do not want to take this if it will hurt the fetus. the pharmacist says there are no studies done on this med yet. lets see i normally use it maybe once every 2 months (2 under the tongue) when something goes wrong at a restaurant... so it is not that often. on my road trip i took about 8 under the tongue in a 12 day period. i had very back luck with eating out on the road and bought a cooler to use next time! i am assuming that i would only take it if needed and wonder if the intense cramping i get during a poisoning would hurt the baby as much as the meds if i were to just ride it out completely? i get really bad double over cramping, so i know i may be clueless on this as far as effecting the baby. i just know i get bad back aches and everything seems so interconnected in my body when i have reactions. sorry to gross the men out but my periods will make my back and gluten reactions 1000 times worse as well.. maybe i am extra sensitive? i know everyone is different and i am just needing to know if this is a drug i should just forget about while i am pregnant and if so, what do other people do when it is an intense cramping with pass out pain that is safe while pregnant? i am someone who took NO meds at all during my last pregnancy but this was also preceliac days where i did not have gluten poisoning every once in awhile ! thanks again for any help whatsoever. sorry about the rambling and not so organized thoughts and questions! now i can blame it on my hormones! :) (but it really is just me!) i appreciate all replies! michele in colorado [log in to unmask]
