You don't say whether the transformer has a switch or setting to change it
from 110 to 240v...
How about the Plug?  If you are now plugging it in to a 110 socket then you
will definitely need a converter..
Your Laptop will end up like a lot of American Hairdryers do...."Burned up".
My recent European trip made me a firm beliver in converters.... My wife
lost a Hairdryer and a Curling Iron to the 240 voltage.
