After I posted the spring roll recipe a few people asked me about
chili sauce. Here's one recipe:

2 cups canned tomatoes
1 chopped onion
dash cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon cloves
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup rice vinegar
2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
salt

In a heavy bottomed saucepan, combine tomatoes, onion, cayenne,
cinnamon, cloves, sugar and vinegar. Simmer, uncovered, for one hour.
Add green pepper and simmer 30 mins more. Add salt to taste. Chill
before serving.


BTW, it was great how many people suggested all sorts of really
interesting variations to the original recipe. For the few minutes it
took me to type up, I ended up with 4 or 5 great new ideas. Thankyou
everyone.
