Dear Listmates,

A couple of months ago there were some posts about an ASDA product
which was marked as "gluten-free" but turned out to be contaminated.
Safeway and Sainsbury also single out some of their products for
marking as "acceptable for a gluten-free diet" or similar; for
example,  it's not immediately obvious why Safeway's coffee and soft
cheese shouldn't be GF, and a call to Sainsbury's Customer Careline
confirms the GF status of (some of) their canned tomatoes whilst their
labels don't.  I wonder if UK members of the Celiac/Coeliac List might
like to share their experiences of these and other supermarkets'
own-brand products.
