I'll go by this a.m. and turn off any power management features that might be enabled. - then have the user watch for a recurrence of the problem today. I do recall that another system I saw this issue on is also subscribing to the same ISP DSL service - PacBell. They (the ISP service) have just switched over to a knew configuration and software. It is a little buggy in other areas. Could this possibly be causing the problem? > Is the system in any "powersave" mode when this occurs? > > Brian > > PROBLEM: > A User is experiencing an OS loss on his PC system after a period of > idle time (this is the only time the problem occurs). > User is away from the system for a while - when he returns, the Win98 > desktop is gone - replaced by the Real Mode screen and a blinking > cursor in the upper left hand corner. > Only way to recover is to reboot the system. > Problem still occurs when no screen saver is selected. -- TIA Chris Rivenbark [log in to unmask] Do you want to signoff PCSOFT or just change to Digest mode - visit our web site: http://nospin.com/pc/pcsoft.html
