Mr. Sallah, I agree entirely with your reasoning and approach in all three articles. Regarding the voting issue, I don't think many Gambians abroad would mind paying a small fee (to pay for the logistics cost) in exchange for voting. I envisage this as a last resort, because I believe that if the IEC is truly independent, they'll be able to raise enough funds both locally and internationally to conduct the elections anywhere there is a significant number of Gambians. But, if they're in a jam financially, I'd rather they charge us $5 per voter rather than say "we cannot hold elections in X or Y country, because there are no funds available." I hope they'll have the courage to truly explore ALL reasonable avenues. And I also hope that the predictable outcome of the voting would not be the real reason why they wouldn't want to give us a chance to have our say. Regarding your letters to the Justice officials, I agree with your sentiments, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I'll keep my fingers crossed for this small country we all call "home." Good morning.
