On my 95 Gateway P5133 XL I have added a 200 Mhz Intel Overdrive Processor a couple of years ago. When my computer boots up it has always said Pentium 133 when going thru boot pages before going to desktop. This is not a real problem, all runs well and Nortons and several other testers say it is a Genuine Intel 199 Mhz CPU. I asked a Gateway "tech" once if that could be changed and said no, it is in the computer settings to say that even though it has a 200 CPU. When I go into setup upon boot up it says Genuine Intel 133 Triton Chip , it does not let me change that , all the changeable settings are below that , there is not even an option to change that as I see it. 1) Is there somewhere to change that ? I have tried to change registry settings to read Gateway in system properties but since reformatting it only says Genuine Intel Processor ,80 megs Ram. I am at a loss here also to change that , have read your page info on updating settings but I seem to not have grasped it. 2) Is there a way to not have Win 98 go through two start up pages before going to desktop. it seems when I used Win.3.1 there was a way to disable those boot pages . 3) My bios is already at the max flash from factory on my Ameritrends board, bios is Brothers 1.00.10 At least I think it is thanks in advance Bobby Sutton Curious about the people moderating your messages?
