Kathleen, Way to go! I had kind of a similar experience. I was on my way to visit a friend in Lancaster. In California they have a transportation service for disabled people called Access Service. So I made a reservation. They picked me up and dropped me off at a Metro-Link Station. When I made the reservation, they neglected to tell me that I was supposed to wait for another Access van. Needles to say, I got on the Metro-Link (I wasn't supposed to though). They dropped me off at a bus stop in Santa Clarita (about half way to Lancaster). By this time, I knew I did something wrong. Mind you, this was the first time I'd visited my friend, so I had no clue as to how to get there. So there I was in my wheelchair at a bus stop in the middle of nowheresville without anyway to call anyone, the pay phone was to high for me to reach. Plus, I have a speech impediment. Here comes the bus, oh but the lift doesn't work. They got another bus, but that lift didn't work either. It really did work, but I heard them say they forgot the key to the lift! It all worked out fine, they called me a cab and it took me right to my friends' door. All this to say, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger, way to go ;o)! Cindy C.
