<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Thanks to all that sent responses to my question about the difference between gluten intolerance and CD. Most thought there was no difference. You are either gluten intolerant or you aren't. CD is also called gluten sensitive enteropathy and non-tropical sprue, or celiac sprue. One person felt that CD is a cumulative disease that affects people in little ways long before they're sick enough to be diagnosed. Another said: My definition is: Gluten-intolerance = a condition Celiac Sprue = a disorder Continued neglect = the opportunity for disease and permanent disability My blood test was abnormal but not positive. (One point below a positive reading.) I have only been on the gf diet for two weeks and I feel a lot better. The nausea disappeared with two days of going gf. With my last bout of nausea, I had a burning sensation on the inside of my knee and a clear looking bump on the back of my knee that itched. By the time I saw the doctor, it had cleared up. After having nearly three months of nausea, I don't really like the idea of going off the diet, but I would like a definite diagnosis. My husband wants me to stay on the diet. Is there anything to be gained by going off the diet and getting a definite diagnosis? Right now, I'm not sure someone could pay me to go off it.
