<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> My sincerest thanks to all who replied to my post. My sister is doing well. She will get tested and is considering trying the diet. I received 59 responses. Many said that there was a definate link between depression and gluten ingestion. Severe mood swings schizophrenia, and headaches were often side effects. According to the responses, these were greatly improved by strictly adhereing to a gluten free diet and in some instances, a casein free diet as well. Many said that doctors were not helpful as they would just prescribe drugs for depression(treating the symptoms, not the cause). I will try to get her to try the diet regardless of how she tests, to see if that helps. She was not very receptive to the thought of going on a gluten free diet, as I am sure most celiacs can relate to. Again, thanks to all the reponses. They were of great help. Sincerely, Michelle Van Kleeck
