As others mentioned, the files you are opening are not likely meant to be
read by people, hence the coding. However, if  ''quickview'' can open the
file, then you simply need to enable it. From windows explorer, click
view/options - then the 'file types' tab. Scroll down to the type of file
you want to look at, high-light it, and click 'edit'. If you see a box at
the lower left which reads 'enable quickview', then quickview can at least
look at it - if you don't see the 'enable' box, then quickview probably
can't read it, and you should click 'cancel'. I don't recommend editing
files with quickview, but just looking at a file can sometimes help you to
understand what the file does. hth
