The successful applicants will be expected to work in advanced research projects with Landsat 7 data and Digital Elevation Models. Each assistantship carries a 12-month stipend of $12,000 plus a full waiver of tuition. The assistantships are renewable upon satisfactory performance. Applicants should have an M.A. or M.Sc. in geography or a related discipline. The Department of Geography at Kent State University has laboratories that house a wide variety of computer hardware and software to support remote sensing and GIS research. These include 6 UNIX servers, 30+ networked NT workstations, 10 G4 Macintoshes, and PCI, ENVI, ERMapper, ESRI, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop software packages.
