This is hardware/software question, but primarily hardware driver.....

I've switched a computer with a Seagate IDE Travan Tape Drive from Win 95
to Win 98. As far as I can tell it works great, *but*....

When I try to create an Emergency Recovery Disk from the Seagate Backup
Exec for Windows 95, there is not enough room on the boot diskette for Win
98 and the Seagate drivers.

When I contacted Seagate, they said that I had to upgrade the BU Exec
software to BU Exec for Win 98 for US$ 60.00. There's gotta be another way
to do this!!!

The backup applet included with Windows 98 will backup to the tape drive
fine (It is supplied by Seagate), *but* then when trying to make the
recovery diskette, it says that this feature is not included with windows
98 and I must upgrade to Seagate's BU Exec for Win98 for US$ 60.00 to get
this feature.

Anyone got a better way for me to make a recovery boot diskette that will
allow the tape drive to do what it was made to do with out paying a ransom?

TIA

Doug
