ITP is Immunologic Idiopathic Throunbocybbupenic Purpura.

In this disease, antibodies attacks platlets in the bood. The standard
treament is steriods.

Background: A young lady called with a question about celiac and IPT.
She was diagnosis (with a biopsy) three years ago. A year later a
physcian convinced her that she was not a celiac. After two years of
being off the diet and developing IPT she is returning to the diet. She
has no symptoms oof celiac (likely being hidden by the steriods).

Has anyone seen any references to IPT and celiacs?

My recomendation to her was to have her physcian contact Dr. Joseph
Murray at the Celiac Clinic, University of Iowa. Dr. Murray may be able
to make some recomendations for an effective, safe, and GF treatment.
