For folks who can tolerate brazil nuts and yeast but not dairy products,
you can also try some brazil-nut based (honest!) cheese substitute
that has no casein/caseinate or milk products at all: VegenRella. It
comes in Mexican and Italian type-- a little goes a LONG way, it's
very strongly flavored so I don't know if a small child would like it.
I cut it into small pieces and freeze, then use as needed by thawing
a bit in the microwave (or in oven, if other things are there already),
then it crumbles easily and melts well. The same company supposedly
makes a cream cheese substitute made from the same things, but I
haven't been able to find it anywhere. For information and free
recipes, call 1-800-NJOY-NOW (Sharon's Finest).

One mail order source to try might be Harvest Direct,
1-800-835-2867 for Rice Dream Pudding. They only seem to have chocolate
and banana flavors, however. You can ask for a catalog, they might
have other useful items as well.

Here's a comlplete list of ingredients for VegenRella:

VeganRella:Mexican Style
brazil nuts, tapioca, rice, oats, canola oil, Irish moss, yeast, mild
peppers, spices, citric acid, salt

VeganRella:Italian Style
brazil nuts, tapioca, rice, oats, canola oil,Irish moss, yeast, garlic,
spices, basil, tomatoes, citric acid, salt

If you can't eat oats because of gluten problems, this might not help.
But if your problem is just regular allergies, this might work.
