Here is another way to change your name in Win 95:

1. On the Run menu, type Regedit and press OK to get the registry editor.
2. Click on the Edit menu above on Find.
3. Type in the wrong name as it appears and click OK or press Enter. (Or, you
can type in "Owner" - without the quotes, of course.)
4. When it finds the wrong name, highlight it if it's not already, and then
edit it.
5. Press F3 to repeat the find. Do this until told that registry search is
complete.

How's that?

Best, Mike

That only accomplishes half of the job. The name of the user is also
stored in the file windows\system\user.exe. Many programs look there on
install and will use that name for thier own install. Makes it kind of
ugly if one has misspelled the name on the original Windows install. The
only way around that that I know of is to hex edit that particular
program. Simple if you understand anything about hex editing, totally
disastrous if you don't. Tom Sandborn
