GREETINGS,
According to the Washington Times,the Senegalese army had destroyed
rebel positions near Ziguinchor , the capital of the separatist southern
province of Casamance,after a weekend upsurge in fighting.The Senegalese
army announced a "vast sweep operation" following multiple attacks in
recent days that left two dead and many wounded .This sweep has allowed
Government forces to destroy rebel firing positions that threaten
residents.
