In my experience, this kind of intermittent noise is usually
coming from a power supply fan with a worn bearing. If this is
the case, you should replace the power supply, unless you are
comfortable opening it up and replacing the fan.
However, you should also check to see that all mounting screws
in the computer are tight, because something could be vibrating
in resonance with the hard drives.
If it is coming from a hard drive itself, there's probably no
good way to tell which one, unless you've got great ears. The
hard drive will let you know all by itself, when it eventually
crashes. Do frequent backups, in case it is a hard drive.
