This weeks webcast is a visit with Dan Comden, from he Do-It Project,
talking about his upcoming series of interviews with users of adaptive
computing technology. The DO-IT project at the University of Washington is
one of the longest-running and most effective programs to help high school
students with disabilities interested in the sciences to maintain their
interest and move them into both college and eventually to work. Students
are provided with adaptive computer equipment and with connections with a
mentor with a disability to provide encouragement and be a role model.
Dan is going to host a monthly series of EASI's webcasts. These monthly
webcast will address all types of adaptations that have students with
disabilities reach their educational as well as employment potential.
Next week will be about WebAIM a project at Utah State University which has
a major outeach to train college and university web designers on making
their sites accessible for their students with disabilities.
