You could just change this in the Google Search Settings. I have no idea 
what operating system, screen reader or browser you're using, but in 
Linux with Firefox and Orca, I just click on the Options setting right 
above my search results. In the subsequent list, I select Search 
Settings and I check the box to have the links on the search results 
page open up in their own window.
