since the Kindle for Android app doesn't allow the screen reader to read 
books, even when the book has speech enabled, an Android user found a way to 
reformat the books so they can be read on the phone using a different app. 
He's shared his experience on the Accessible Android blog. It may be of 
interest to non-Android users, as the same procedure would be used to read 
the book on the PC.

It's a lot of work, but it goes faster with practice and may be worth the 
effort for some titles. the post is here:
