I'm finally launching something I first thought of doing last summer - a
Section 508 listserv where all could discuss Section 508 issues.

Many government web issues listservs do not let nongovernmental people
join, and other listservs deal with many accessibility issues and are not
specific to Section 508 concerns. This new listserv is not trying to
steal any thunder or members, but rather to offer a very specific
 community its own listserv.

I'm funding this with my own money and managing it on my own. Its really
important to me, as the parent of an epileptic, to see Section 508
succeed. To do that, information must be open to all and I can ensure
that the information on the new 508-info list always is.

Hopefully the new 508-info listserv users will all help develop my rather
lofty idea and make this a dynamic and informational listserv. I get
tired of the sound of my own voice - or fingers rapping on the keyboard -
so please feel free to ask questions and answer them.

Also, if you want to critique the rather bland website that I've put up at
www.508-info.com, that would be fine. I haven't had a lot of time to work
on it, but I think that the dialogue from this listserv would inspire me
to add quite a bit. One thought
I've had is that it needs its own blog!

You can subscribe to the 508-info listserv like this:

To join the list, send email to
 <[log in to unmask]>
In the body of the message, simply type
"subscribe listserve_508 [log in to unmask]"
 without the quotations.

To contact the owner of the list,
(if you have trouble unsubscribing, or have questions about the
list itself) send email to <[log in to unmask]> .

I'm not sure how well the subscribe feature works yet, as it hasn't been
 field tested very
 thoroughly yet.

Please let me know what you think. You will all be welcome to join the
list, and I look forward to your insightful comments and wisdom.

 Thank you,
