Hi Jeff,
Since you have an IPhone, I think there is an app that will, are you 
sitting down? It will let your IPhone become a universal remote for TVs, 
etc.
So, for you IPhone experts, (Which I'm not one), is there such an app?
If there is Jeff, that, will be a great app for ya!
