If you don't want to learn a sound editor, you can sign up for Dropbox, 
which is free, add the sound file to your Dropbox folder, and send your 
friend a link to the file. This is all incredibly easy. Dropbox is so 
easy that the first time I used it I was trying to make it more 
complicated than it was.
