I get an error when trying to run this game and it's probably due to the
time out when attempting to install directx. I wrote the site but have yet
to receive a response.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Accessible Game

I have run across a fully accessible game which I thought might interest
some of you.

I am not a big time game player, mostly because I have found most adapted
games boring. However, I took a chance on Star Trek Final Conflict and was
very pleasantly surprised.

The game is completely self voicing and totally audible. That is, the
screen is actually blank. It has all the Trek sound effects and creates a
very realistic ambiance as if you were sitting in a control center giving
orders to your fleet of starships. You have full control of helm, ops,
tactical, navigation, engineering etc. for five Federation starships and two
star bases. It is a turn by turn strategy game which I enjoyed more than
the type that pretends to function in real time. I found the game really
engaging, and the best part, free of charge.

The game is available from US Games at:
