Hi, Penny. Even the bestof SD cards can go south. I don't believe the 
stream is any harder on them than the computers we attach them too. 
Someone else will probably have more technical specifics as to what causes 
the card to become corrupted.
The only thing I know for sure is things can happen to data during the 
transfer process.
