Hi everyone,

There's an interesting article in "Scientific American" about the potential
for improving vision by taking LASIK surgery a few
steps further. The procedure concentrates on smaller scale bumps and
depressions that are currently uncorrected through LASIK surgery.

The procedure involves, "...adaptive optics--a system that measures light
distortion and corrects it with deformable mirrors."

The article goes on to say that, "Laboratory subjects achieved astonishing,
above-average acuity, particularly in low light."

The article is optimistic to the point of being a little fluffy, but it's
interesting.
