Hello everybody,

It's good to be back with the group.

In the subject line, I used the prefix "TECH" even though the
introductory email defined that heading as being for "emerging
technology and its implications". I couldn't find a prefix for
"old technology and its problems".

Anyway, here is my question.

I still use a DOS-based version of Word Perfect 6.1.

This program has a built-in fax. It is currently configured to
automatically print a header on my outgoing faxes (the first page
only, I believe). The header has my name and phone number.

The problem is, I need to change that phone number to a new fax
number. Sounds simple, but I have no idea of how the original
header was entered, nor how to alter it.

I've tried many options within the fax menus. I've read through
the HELP screens. I've even gone through the one-inch thick
manual that came with it. Nothing is leading me to the solution,
my intuition has been failing me, and my "It's worth a try"
adjustments have only been causing more problems.

I suspect that the fax program is retrieving my name an phone
number from some other part of the overall program, kind of like
how the DATE CODE COMMAND inserts the date that it finds in the
hard drive, CPU, or whatever.

Thanks for your help.
Peter Seymour
