I am a recent user of xp home; I have window-eyes 5.5.  For several weeks
now, I am having trouble downloading books from audible.com.  The download
will begin; download a percentage, which varies, then stops.  The computer
is not locked up; the connection to the internet is not interfered with.  I
have asked audible about this and at first was told that they have been
updating their servers and that the update would continue through 11/15.
Today, however, I was told that it is possible a firewall is interfering.

We do have a hub and as of this moment, I do not know the name of it; it was
provided through what is now sbc/yahoo.  It is my understanding if one has a
hub, then one has a firewall.

I looked in security center in control panel.  I saw a firewall button and
pressed it.  It said a firewall can provide protection against viruses and
then how does a firewall help but could not find anything beyond that
question.

I question whether the firewall is the problem as I have successfully
downloaded books.  To my knowledge, nothing has changed on my end.  Any
suggestions?  Is there a way to temporarily disable a firewall?  Please be
explicit.  I am not techy.
