I'm writing for a musician who is blind and who is looking to set up a
computer system (she doesn't have email yet). She's a composer, and would
like to play her composition on the midi keyboard, have it automatically
transcribed in draft form, and, after she edits it, printed for her sighted
friends. Such software exists of course, but the question is which ones are
accessible.  She'd like to keep costs minimal, so musical Braille is
probably out at this stage.

She especially likes classical, country, and 50's-60's rock, although I
don't know if that will have a big effect on what system to buy (smile).

In addition she needs email and internet access.

I'd appreciate any advice.  I'd especially appreciate any info on user
groups or other resources (good stores etc.) in or near Wilkes Barre
Pennsylvania who she could talk to or visit.  Or user groups not so close
(although that would increase phone costs and transportation difficulties).

I'll relay any info you post to the list.  Plus I'd be glad to give her
phone nbr to anyone interested or give her yours.  (I didn't feel
comfortable posting someone else's phone number to a world wide mailing list).
