Thanks Lynn. I tried all of those things without success. I tell you, this
one was really weird. It finally worked when I marked it unread and pressed
the delete key. Go figure.

Have you tried opening the message wile it is still in the outbox and
deleting the large attachment?
Have you tried moving the offending email to another folder like your draft
folder and deleting it from there?
