Job Description:

This advanced-level professional class uses the knowledge of 
assistive technology and the principles of universal design to 
interpret and apply the federally-funded Assistive Technology Act 
to meet the needs of Minnesotans with disabilities.

  *   Assist in planning, implementing and evaluating statewide 
assistive technology activities required by the Assistive 
Technology Act, as amended.
  *   Provide expert advice on assistive technology to STAR staff 
and its clientele.
  *   Demonstrate assistive technology to consumers and 
professionals.
  *   Oversee STAR's statewide assistive technology inventory.
  *   Process state agencies requests for reimbursement from 
State's centralized accommodation fund.
  *   Promote public awareness of the STAR program, its services 
and assistive technology.

Minimum Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  *   Assistive Technology Practitioner-ATP (RESNA) or Assistive 
Technology Applications Certificate Program-ATACP (CSUN) or 
equivalent certificate.
  *   Experience providing assistive technology services to 
consumers and professionals.
  *   Experience providing assistive technology presentations and 
training to consumers and professionals.
  *   Knowledge of the Assistive Technology Act.
  *   Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  *   Ability to lift and assemble assistive technology for 
demonstrations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  *   Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning.
  *   Knowledge of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Web 
Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.
