To Lisa and all:

Winamp was discontinued in 2014 after the company making it available sold it to Radio Nomy. Reportedly, Radio Nomy will be coming out with a new version of the software (in fact, it was supposed to be at the end of 2015), but it hasn't happened yet. However, the last Winamp build with patches can be easily downloaded at

http://www.filehorse.com/download-winamp/

I downloaded it from this site and had no problems with viruses.

There is a Beta version of a Winamp 7 that is *not* officially sanctioned by Radio Nomy that supposedly works well (I haven't tried it yet) with Windows 8. You can find this version of the software at

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/winamp.htm

A word of caution here if you have installed Windows 10 and are running JFW as your screenreader (I don't know if this applies to Windoweyes). If you are running 4g of RAM memory on your computer, you may have some memory issues related to running Windows 10, JAWS, and Winamp at the same time. While there are some temporary fixes to this issue (like defragmenting your computer's paging memory), ultimately the best solution would be to either purchase a new computer with 8g of RAM or purchase and install an additional 4g of RAM on your current system, assuming your system can handle the additional memory.

Every story has at least two sides if not more.

    Hi all,

Does anyone know if I can still get winamp? If so, could you tell me where to go to download it that would be safe to use?

Thanks very much.

Lisa
