Good Morning, Justin:

Sounds interesting, but...

The head-set must connect one ear phone to the sound ared in the PC and the
other to the telephone line. In addition, we have not found great success
with cordless units and screen access speech.

I would celebrate a less expensive unit, but the Plantronics that we
recommend are the only ones that are available and only by custom orders.

As you know, Plantronics is the commercial state-of-the-art unit available.

One particular problem to remember is that cordless has not been found to
operate successfully with speech programs.

Thanks for the article,

Ed

Logitech® Introduces First PC and Telephone Headsets Providing 100 Feet
of Cordless Freedom

"Smart Switching" Technology Simplifies Headset Use Between the
Telephone and the PC

Fremont, CA - September 10, 2001 -- Logitech (NASDAQ: LOGIY)
(Switzerland: LOGN, LOGZ) today announced its expansion into the premium
voice access and telephony market. As a leader in cordless connectivity,
Logitech has once again "cut the cord" with the introduction of two new
cordless voice access products: the Cordless Freedom Headset for PC's
and the Cordless Telephone and PC Headset. Logitech has also created a
new corded headset, the Hands-Free Telephone and PC Headset, which
brings added clarity for PC voice recognition dictation and offers
"Smart Switching" technology to enable users to instantaneously switch
between the PC and the telephone. This new line of products offer
extended comfort and convenience for hands-free communication, and will
be available in U.S. and Canadian retail outlets and online at
www.logitech.com <http://www.logitech.com/> in early October.

"Logitech is bringing its innovative touch to voice communication," said
Ray Weikel, director of product marketing for Logitech's Audio Business
Unit. "Our new products offer tremendous versatility and quality to both
PC and telephone users. PC voice access is growing at an aggressive rate
due to popular applications like audio instant messaging. Now our
customers can easily move between the telephone and the PC without the
constraint of a cord."

The Cordless Telephone and PC Headset System simplifies communication by
enabling hands-free telephone calling or Internet voice chat with
automatic switching between the telephone and the PC. The system
features Logitech's proprietary smart switching technology, which
eliminates manual switching between the handset and the headset, or the
telephone and PC. It includes a cordless headset and POTS adapter, 10
channel auto scan 900MHz transmission, a boom microphone that employs
exclusive noise canceling and amplification technology that filters out
background noise for precise audio input. It has a six-hour battery life
and up to 100 feet of cordless freedom. Because it involves only one
headset that automatically switches based on the user's communication
platform, the Cordless Telephone and PC Headset System eliminates
desktop clutter and fumbling between devices. This product retails for
$79.95.

The Cordless Freedom Headset for PC's enables hands-free communication,
which is ideal for Internet voice chat, video conferencing and
multi-player Internet gaming. With an estimated retail price of $69.95,
the Cordless Freedom Headset includes an un-tethered headset, 10-channel
auto scan 900MHz transmission, rechargeable batteries and remote standby
time up to seven days. It offers a comfort fit with added performance,
plus up to 100 feet of cordless freedom.

The Hands-Free Telephone and PC Headset System is a corded headset that
enables communication for the PC and the telephone, with noise canceling
technology for accurate speech recognition. This headset also includes
the smart switching technology, which eliminates manual switching of
communication modes between the telephone and PC. It features a
hands-free headset and POTS adapter, AC adapter and base stand, and a
convenient mute button and volume control for added convenience. This
headset will sell for $49.95.
