The next meeting of Vibug, (visually Impaired And Blind Users Group) will
be held on Saturday, August 14, from 1 to 4 pm at National Braille Press,
88 St. Stephen street in Boston.
The focus of this meeting will be high-tech gadgets.
Amy Ruell wil be demonstrating the Road-runner, a portable
handheld device that stores text files from a computer and allows you to
read them wherever you are using built-in synthetic speech.
A couple other devices, including the speech expressor, will also be
demonstrated. The speech expressor allows a person to listen to recorded
books at faster than normal speed while restoring the voice to normal
pitch.
