Amen! I readily acknowledge a great debt to RFB&D for making it possible to
attend both college and law school, but I think they've gone way overboard
with their protocol for guarding against piracy, etc. There's nothing in the
copyright law that requires RFB&D, or any other entity providing copyrighted
material to the blind in an alternative format, to guarantee that sufch
content cannot, or will not, be misused. I think it is only necessary that
such entities demonstrate that they have taken reasonable steps to safeguard
the copyright. RFB&D's scheme goes way beyond this, and does, as asserted,
impose an undue and unnecessary burden on patrons.
