Hi all,

I was just told by my computer guy, Rick, about how to speed up firefox,
and my does it ever load web pages, much faster!

Here's how to do it, using NVDA.

note--I was not able to do it with jaws 2018.

how to speed up firefox
step 1. Launch firefox.
step 2. type about:config and press enter.
step 3. Then, tab down to I accept the risk button and press spacebar.
step 4. Now, in the search box type the word layers
step 5. Then, tab down 1 time, and it will say say gfx.layerscop
step 6. then, down arrow 5 times to layers.accelleration.force enabled
default boolion false.
step 7. Now, press enter, to switch to true, and you'll hear it say
layers.accelleration.force enabled default boolion true.

Now, let's try a web page, that has a lot of graphics, and you'll see
how much faster it loads web pages. let's go to

weather.com

and for me, that web page loads in 1 second!

Harry
