Greetings,

Please can somebody advise me, is it **essential** when installing **any**
version of K1000, that there is a scanner source already on the system?

If it is not possible to install a version of K1000 without any form of
scanner and/or drivers, what is the minimum with which I can get away?

My thinking is that I wish to assist a friend which entails my loading
K1000 version 9.0, doing the job and uninstalling it again but the job is
to convert some .jpg files, so once completed, there is no further use
hence it can easily run in demo mode for this one job.

My friend does not have and is not going to acquire any form of scanner at
present.

My friend is using windowsXP (home), so is it possible from it's database,
to find something which would, if the need arises, make K1000 believe there
is a scanner present? If so, what is it? where is it? how do we use it?
will it have any other effects on the system? If so, how do we get round
them?

Hoping to hear from some kind soul soon.

All the best

from:

Colin R. Howard.
