Media Relations

This is a part-time position with potential to become full-time.
Some
night and weekend hours are required. Salary is based on
experience.

Responsibilities
Assisting the organization with its website, email news, social
media
presence and membership development.
Key tasks include:
- Website content development, including implementation of
advertising
- Media relations
- Assistance with production and distribution of NVRC email news,
staff
blogs and information for social media sites
- Design and production of updates to NVRC members and
contributors
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, or marketing or
2-4
years related administrative experience within organizations for
deaf
and hard of hearing consumers,
- Ability to communicate with consumers across all levels of
hearing
loss, understanding of deafness, Deaf culture, and various
communication
modes
- Experience in developing websites, content and harnessing the
power
of the web's social networking media
- Understanding of current and emerging trends in technologies
for deaf
and hard of hearing individuals
- Outstanding writing skills
- Strong personal initiative, problem solving skills, creativity,
teamwork, and ability to work independently
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
Desirables
Understanding of various forms of telecommunication and
telecommunication relay services used by deaf and hard of hearing
individuals
ASL proficiency
