has links to the information I mentioned about ways to disable the ID
features of CueCat.  These links may be hard to find among the
newsgroups that the article references, so I'm including them here for
those who may be interested.  I imagine there will be new info on
stopping the ID features in a few days, so I DON'T RECOMMEND EITHER OF
THESE SUGGESTIONS:

Cat Kit 32 on:

 http://members.aol.com/powercntrl

will decode the output of the scanner in any 32-bit windows application
and it doesn't invade your privacy.

Or, the other option:

Disable the serial number.  At this site:

are instructions on how to disable the CueCat's serial number.
