Relax. Spybott is a spyware package, not an antivirus or firewall
package. While removing and blocking malware is a good thing, it's not a
life and death issue as an antivirus or firewall is.
Now if you are not using a firewall, that's another matter.
If Spybott was giving your pc fits, you did the right thing in removing
it.
The question, and I will leave it to others to offer suggestions, should
be what additional antispyware software should you run.
Note, unlike firewalls and antivirus programs, you can have multiple
malware detectors and removers on your pc as different programs look and
respond to different things.

.
Indeed a really thankful heart will extract motive for gratitude from everything,
making the most even of scanty blessings.
