CU-Boulder will be hosting the 11th annual Accessing Higher Ground:
Accessible Media, Web and Technology Conference at the Millennium Harvest
House, adjacent to the campus of the University of Colorado - Boulder, Nov.
11-14, 2008. The conference focuses on strategies for making campus media,
course material, information resources, libraries, and Web pages accessible.


Highlights

* Over 50 presentations and hands-on sessions taught by national experts

* A Braille/Tactile Graphics Track on topics related to the Braille
production of math and science material, the creation of tactile graphics,
and using standard tools such as Word to create Braille material

* The AHEAD Institute on E-Text Production - a unique two-day institute on
best practices for creating electronic text

* EASI (Equal Access to Software and Information) track on accessible online
forms, accessibility trends in library web sites and databases and other
topics

* WebAIM will conduct two half-day, hands-on preconference workshops on Web
accessibility

* Access Technologists Higher Education Network (ATHEN) track on subjects
ranging from DAISY to accessible multimedia to new tools for captioning and
accessible web design

* Pre-conference and main conference sessions on the ADA and other legal
topics and the implications of disabled Iraqi veterans returning to the
post-secondary environment
