Presentation:

Our guest speaker, Mark Bursic, is host of "Talking Computers" --
the AM radio program heard Tuesdays at 7:00 pm on KQV 1410. Mr. Bursic
explained the language of personal computers in more simplified,
down-to-earth terms, and answered computer questions from the
audience. He also discussed how Windows has gradually added more
generalized terms, like those similar to the Macintosh Operating
System. This change allows users to be better acquainted with
different systems, and yet still use the "language" of similar
terminology. Mark Bursic told us about 3 GOOD "Computer Term
Glossary" sites on the Internet:

1. www.aol.com
2. www.pcwebopedia.com (recently acquired by Lycos)
3. www.whatis.com (owned by Lycos).

Thanks goes out to Mark Bursic for an informative program!

Please join VIPACE for our next meeting on Friday November 20, 1998
as a portion of the program will be devoted to nominations of new
VIPACE officers for 1999, plus there will be another presentation TBA.

Thank You,
Jim V.
VIPACE Secretary
