Apology in advance:
I know this question has been addressed ad nausium before, and I fear
I may have have even asked the question before myself but alas I
can't find any emails I might have saved so I ask the patience and
indulgence of this list yet once again.

I want to rip and save my cd's to a hard drive. I'm currently using
.flac but wonder if there is a similar format which takes up less
space yet conserves the quality. I plan to save the originals but
still want to save in a high-performance format, one which hopefully
.mp3-style devices (I'm currently using the Victor Stream) will recognize.
Thanks for any assistance.
Judy Wilkinson
