I believe what you may be referring to (and running into) is a program 
called Flash!

Flash was originated by Macromedia, and is now owned by Adobe.  It is mostly 
a movie and animation/slideshow player, I think.

It seems to me as though there's a blocker for it, in other words, a little 
piece of software that says "Its not here" and let's you go on.
