Just wanted to jump on the bandwagon here and say
that I also have found this list very helpful. It may have changed from its
original purpose, but it's very handy to have a list where one can pose
questions and share tips and tricks, along with sharing information on
emerging technology.
Thanks.
Also as to turning off place marker indicators, at the end of the check list
others have pointed Debra too is a checkbox for "all", and if you miss it,
unchecking the others won't solve the problem.

The same thing happened to me some years ago and I can testify that hearing
every space marker announced can send you around the bend quicker than
almost anything. However, it is a nice feature to know about on those
occasions when you need to scrutinize the layout of a text.

Thanks all,
Lisa L
